What Should Advocates Do?
Advocates should begin using these new guidelines when estimating FAP budgets for clients. A small number of clients will be impacted directly by this change, in particular people whose gross income was above 200% using the 2001 guidelines but not using the 2002 guidelines. If these people have very high expenses, they may now qualify for FAP assistance. |
What Should Clients Do?
Clients who have been denied FAP assistance because they were over the gross income limit, but who have high expenses, should reapply or call 1-800-481-4989 to find out if they would now qualify. |
