Michigan Migrant Legal Assistance Project, Inc.

Michigan Migrant Legal Assistance Project, Inc. (MMLAP) has an opening for a litigation paralegal in Grand Rapids. The paralegal will assist attorneys who represent clients in class and collective actions. In addition, the paralegal will lead outreach teams and participate in education and impact work.

MMLAP provides free legal services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers, in their predominant language: Spanish. The paralegal will serve as support and a liaison between clients, their attorneys, the court, and counsel. Also, the paralegal will oversee outreach and participate in impact work.

Applicants should be experienced in working with minorities, speak Spanish, and have a public interest background with litigation experience. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to the low-income immigrant community. Salary is from $25,000, depending on experience. Fringe benefits included.
