Staff Attorney - Lakeshore Legal Aid

Lakeshore Legal Aid (Lakeshore) has an opening for a staff attorney in its Port Huron office.

Lakeshore is a non profit legal aid program that provides free legal services to very low income people and persons aged 60-plus in sixteen counties in Southeastern and Eastern Michigan. Lakeshore also operates an attorney staffed hotline (CALL) which provides advice and brief legal services to clients in 68 counties throughout Michigan.

The attorney will provide legal services to seniors and persons in poverty  in St Clair, Sanilac and Huron Counties primarily in the areas of immigration, housing, family and consumer law. This job requires multi-county travel. Immigration experience preferred but not required. Applicants should be licensed to practice law in Michigan or able to practice pursuant to MCR 8.120. Clinical experience and/or, experience with seniors or clients in poverty  is preferred.  . Salary is from $32,500 with excellent fringe benefits.
